Enjoy Youtube videos with Mac OS X Snow Leopard—easier and faster

Since the release of Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Apple's new desktop and server operating system, more and more consumers have been wondering if they will buy it or have a try. Is it trustworthy? What are the new features of it compared with its predecessor?

Inferred from the literal meaning of “Snow Leopard”, I always associate the wide feet, stocky body and long thick fur of a running snow leopard with a high-speed processor. It is said that Snow Leopard Mac Server is up to twice as fast as its predecessor, with faster performance for operations such as file sharing, mail, and web hosting. Moreover, the new version of Mac OS x is intended to improve efficiency, performance and diminishing its overall memory footprint compared to the older Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard”, rather than new end-user capabilities. Furthermore, It simplifies the operation for customers to utilize similar functionality in Microsoft Windows with its built-in support for the newest version of Microsoft Exchange 2007 servers for access via Mail, Address Book and iCal. Also, Snow Leopard makes the Time Machine up much easier to backup hard driver and accelerates the backing-up speed up to 80 percent.

With such a powerful Mac OS X, assuming that if we download some Youtube videos and watch them on our Mac, what is a sweet experience! But, what shall we do?

Fortunately, I got the news and suggestions via Google, Forums and Yahoo answers. I just need a Youtube Converter for Mac. Then I tried several programs recommended by some search engines, but in vain. What’s wrong?
Last I realized that Mac OS X Snow Leopard applies specific system requirements listed as below:

Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory
5GB of free disk space
DVD drive (also accessible via Remote Disc) or external USB or FireWire hard disk drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Based upon above-mentioned requirements, I kept seeking for a relevant and effective program. Finally, I got Pavtube Youtube Converter for Mac—designed with both download and conversion capabilities. For general similar programs, they can only convert Youtube videos but no download. However, this program can not only download but also convert Youtube videos (FLV or F4V) to any other formats so that we can enjoy these videos on our iPod, iPhone 3Gs, Apple TV, Quick Time Player, Realplayer, iMovie, Final Cut Express, idvd and etc. For instance, we can download our favorite Youtube videos and enjoy them on our Mac computer in a few minutes. Okay, how to achieve our “Youtube movie dream” on Mac?
Take it easy! You will be interested in the following easy instructions:

Step one, download (select download Intel platform) Pavtube Youtube Converter for Mac as below:

Step two, import URL of Youtube video you wanna download to this program using “Add URL” button, select the output video format you want, then you can specify the output file path as you wish by hitting “Browse” icon.

Step three, if you want your output videos with much higher quality, you just click “Custom” button to set the videos as you wish such as video/audio revolution, including Codec Name, Frame rate, Bit rate, Size (pix) and Sample rate. Also, you can select the channels as you wish.

Step four, Hit “Ok” button, it immediately download and convert your youtube video (or a batch of youtube videos) simultaneously.
According to my own experience, the whole operation is simple, fast and nimble. What attracts me is the high quality output video playing in my Quick Time Player on Mac. Therefore, do not worry about its output video quality! Frankly, this Youtube Converter for Mac adopts advanced audio and video sync technology, thus completely eliminating the audio and video out of sync issue and ensuring excellent output audio and video.

For Blackberry lovers, this month is very exciting month. Research in Motion (RIM) is launching two new handset very soon - the Blackberry Strom and Blackberry Bold 9700 . Both are aimed at different markets and are very much improved over their predecessors. The Blackberry Storm 2 as we know is the second-generation Storm handset and comes with BBM 5.0 and an improved touch-sensitive screen, much better than the original Storm. And some of the features of the Blackberry 9700 are much the same as the Storm 2, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G support and Wi-Fi. The difference end there, as the Bold 2 is not a touch screen and is aimed at a different user, as the handset is more for business use. People can’t wait for them coming. Now, Verizon has confirmed that the Blackberry Storm 2 has been headed to the carrier on October 28th. But it is also a secret which date the Blackberry 9700 will be published. In this article I have summarized both of them devices’ features and what are their relative and essential programs.
That’s the simple information I have got about the two phones. In many other aspects, both have the same characteristics, for example, Device Security (Password protection, Screen lock, Sleep mode, Optional support for S/MIME), Wireless email, Organizer, Browser, and Notification etc.
For multimedia, Blackberry Phone is advanced media player for videos, music and pictures. Blackberry Strom2 supports video formats including MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV and audio formats including MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus, and so on. While Blackberry Bold 9700 supports video formats, such as, Divx 4, Divx 5/6, H.263, H.264, WMV3, MPEG4 and so on, and audio formats such as 3GP, MP3, WMA9,WMA9 Pro/WMA 10, MIDI, AMR-NB, and so on . Meanwhile, I find the Blackberry could not support all of video or audio files such as AVI file, FLV file and so on. So I search this problem on the Google and find powerful software to let me enjoy wonderful experience with Blackberry Phone – Nidesoft Blackberry Video Converter. It could convert video and audio files to your Blackberry movie and music format. The source files formats that could be converted by this Blackberry Video Converter include: MPEG, VOB, MP4, M4V, WMV, ASF, AVI, 3GP, FLV, YouTube, etc. Additionally, you could use this Blackberry Converter to convert MOD to Blackberry video. To free download it here and have a try: http://www.nidesoft.com/downloads/blackberry-video-converter.exe
and you may get more information about it here: http://www.nidesoft.com/blackberry-video-converter.html
After download and install this software, you may get video into your Blackberry this way:
Step 1: Click “Add File” button to import your videos from your computer.

Step 2: Click the “format” drop-down list to select the Blackberry format
Step 3: Click the “convert” button and start the conversion.
Ok, after the conversion finished, you may get the movies and music for your Blackberry.
Another, I know Nidesoft DVD to Blackberry Converter is an excellent Blackberry Video tool which could convert DVD to Blackberry video and music. If you want to enjoy your DVD with Blackberry, you may try it! It is easy to see these two software is the best assistants for Blackberry

Now, the Blackberry Strom has lunched on the market and the Blackberry Bold 9700 will be published soon. Both have been given considerable thought on the market. Minor changes having a major impact, give them little bit more standing in comparison to his predecessor and his current competitors. Under in this area, the mobile phone technology develops quickly and the mobile phone competition is more and more severe. As a blackberry lover, I hope they can take the good sales performance

The history of Zune versus iPod Prizefights is long and bloody, filled with enough cutting criticism to send devout fans on both sides of the ring into fits. Now iPod and Zune Prizefight than ever more fiercely with Microsoft introduced Zune HD on September 15. Compared with the iPod Touch, Zune HD has what characteristics and what different advantages, has become the most heated discussion at the topic. Zune HD is a platform without a purpose. It's a single device in a multipurpose world. Zune HD gamed iPod Touch, with better design, better hardware components, more appropriate size and outstanding digital content consumption experience. It’s a brief summary, let’s go on!
Zune HD’s main features:
· large screen size (3.3 inches), lightweight (2.6 ounces), High-resolution (480*272 pixels), beautiful (Platinum, Black, Red, Green, Blue), large capacity (16GB/32GB), Multi-Touch;
· Battery life ups to 33 hours for music and 8.5 hours for video;
· Glass-covered full-color OLED display;
· ARM 800 MHZ CPU
· HD radio tuner
· Buy, stream, and update your music—and download free games—wirelessly via a wi-fi connection.
· Surf the web anytime, including tap-to-zoom technology, built-in accelerometer, and touchscreen QWERTY keyboard.
· Support 720p HD movies, TV shows, and videos in high definition on your HDTV through the Zune HD AV Dock (sold separately).
· Quickplay gives instant access to your stuff with shortcuts to favorites, recently downloaded or played music, videos, and more.

Compared with iPod Touch, although the Zune HD screen measures a slightly smaller 3.3 inches diagonally, it's uses cutting edge OLED technology, which delivers brightness and contrast unlike anything you can find in a LCD which iPod Touch applies. And slight another three hours of music may look, the extra 2.5 hours of video stands out to us as a significant advantage.(iPod Touch ups to 30 hours for music and 6 hours for video).
Besides hardware, what differences in other aspects?

Nowadays, people like using media centers like Xtreamer, Popcorn Hour, Tvix, Mvix, etc. to bring all the media contents from PC to living room for enjoy with the whole family or friends. As general DVD and HD DVD have given way to Blu-ray to some extent, many movie fans are turning their intention to Blu-ray instead, thus this thread aims to introduce you how to copy BD movies to the hard drive of PC for playback on your TV or home theater via Xtreamer. Please feel free to read on the detailed instruction below.

Some info you should know:

Xtreamer supported video formats:

MPEG1/2/4 Elementary (M1V, M2V, M4V)

MPEG1/2 PS (M2P, MPG)

MPEG2 Transport Stream (TS, TP, TRP, M2T, M2TS, MTS)

VOB

AVI, ASF, WMV

Matroska (MKV)

MOV (H.264), MP4, RMP4

FLV - Flash Video

Since Xtreamer supports .m2ts, we just need copy Blu-ray to HD directly, and keep its all initial data without any change, including the .m2ts format, so there is no need to worry about if the backup files will get some video loss or something else unexpected.

Step 1: Launch Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper and load Blu-ray files to it

Once you launch this program, the following main interface will pop up. It enables you to click “DVD Rom”, “DVD Folder”, or “IFO/ISO” to import Blu-ray files.

Step 2: Choose “Directly Copy”, set destination folder

After Blu-ray files are loaded, now you should click the drop-down list of “Format” to select “Copy” firstly, and then click on “Copy Directly” next to it. Meanwhile, press the folder icon in the opposite side of “Output” to specify save path of output files. Of course, you can skip this step, because this program will give you a destination folder set by default automatically. BTW, if you want to join all the files to be one file, you can tick the checkbox before “Merge into one file” to realize it.

Step 3: Convert

As soon as the former two steps are done, now you can click “Convert” button to begin conversion. Do remember click on the “Start” button after that. The ripping window will show you the conversion info including conversion progress, time elapse, time left, generated size, estimated size clearly. It also allows you to tick “Shut down computer after conversion”, so that you can go out for a walk, even take a nap, or do something else while conversion.

After copying work is over, you can find out the resulted .m2ts files by clicking button “Open”. Afterwards, connect your PC with your home theater via Xtreamer, and now you can enjoy the movie with your family or friends leisurely.

Greetings,

I am a new BB9530 user and I had heard good things about the Opera Mini. I inatlled it per the web instructions. When I got to the point where I am supposed to agree to the terms, it freezes. The button highlighted, but evidently did not initiate the appropriate activity.

Opera Mini is sitting quietly in the download file, completely inactive. The other programs I downloaded are fine, so it is not entirely my inexperience.

Any suggestion?

Mike

Okay, now, let’s start.

1. Download Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper, install and launch it

Now with Moyea Video Converter for Mac, you can enjoy your converted video files clearly and perfectly in the devices you first want to.

Hi Folks.
I recently got a new BB Storm 9500 from my Operator Plan and now I'm trying to learn how to fully customize him.
Right now I'm having two problems.
I can't update the software. I'm trying by the new BlackBerry Desktop Software downloaded from the official BlacBerry site but everytime I try i receive the same message. A unexpected failure. Always happens when the software try to access the ROM memory of the device.
I changed and re-changed almost all options of configuration in the software but I can't find the solution.
Someone had such problem?

Another problem I have it's financial issue.
Data Plan here in Brazil is quite expensive. Without Wi-Fi on device it's very hard, work with internet on the cellphone.
So, can I find some device to add to BlackBerry to get access to wi-fi networks?
Or have some way to connect to internet trough PC connection?

Thanks for help.

People nowadays can easily download various sorts of MKV files online free of charge. These MKV files can be in forms of videos, movies, or MV, nevertheless, all of them can not be directly played in many system built-in players, and need to be converted to other formats. This article here aims to introduce you what is MKV, and how to facilitate the MKV to play on Mac or mobile devices.

Part 1: What is MKV?

Briefly speaking, MKV is one of the file types of a container format called Matroska, which is similar to other containers like ASF, AVI, MP4, and 3GP in conception. Matroska is an open standard free container format, which can hold an unlimited number of subtitle tracks, pictures, audios, or videos within a single file. It contains three file types: MKV for video files (including audios and subtitles); MKS for subtitles (only subtitles); MKA for audio files only. To store HD video files is the most common use of MKV files.

Part 2: How to convert MKV to MP4, MOV, and FLV on Mac?
Imagine you have downloaded a movie in MKV format, what will you do next?
I always convert it to other formats for playback on my Mac or my portable devices with PavtubeMKV Converter for Mac. I recommend you having a try about it, because it can perfectly transfer MKV files to other video formats for playback on common video players like QuickTime or portable devices like iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen, etc.

1. Run this program, and add MKV files to it
Click “Add” button to input MKV files to this program.

2. Select format and set destination folder
Select whatever format you want in the drop-down list of “Format”. To play the video with QuickTime, you can select MP4 or MOV. To sync to your portable devices, you can select MP4 or 3GP. To edit with iMovie, you can select MP4 or MOV. To upload to video website, you can select FLV. At the same time, you should also set where to locate your output files by click button “Browse”, or you can use the destination path set by default directly.

3. Set output settings
If you want to optimize the quality of your output videos, you can click “Settings” to reset video or audio parameters in the following window.

4 .Press “Convert” button to start converting
This MKV converter do not test your patience, since the conversion can be finished at an unbelievable fast speed, also, unlike some other MKV converters, it is without the problem of audio-video out of sync.
After the conversion is completed, you can watch or edit the videos in MOV or MP4 formats that got from the original MKV files on Mac with ease, or enjoy them on your mobile devices easily, or upload the converted FLV videos to some video websites to share with everyone else.

Greetings to all of you. I've stumbled upon a problem that I can't seem to resolve. I've been using the Desktop Software with no problem until yesterday. I recently moved from XP Pro to 64 bit Vista Ultimate, but didn't have any trouble upon reinstalling the software with the new OS. I've been running that way for about a week with no issues. Suddenly yesterday, when I plugged in the blackberry to the laptop, the computer acknowledged it, but BlackBerry Desktop did not. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted both devices, cleaned up the registry, tried another synch cable and all the usual fixes, but I'm at a loss. I really, really need to be able to synch with Outlook now. If anyone can help me, PLEASE! (big grin) Stepping off soap box now. Thank you in advance. - T'Mreth

Share your camcorder HD videos on YouTube

Video sharing has become a popular trend in our daily lives, and people are earnest to upload all sorts of videos recorded by camcorders to video sharing websites like YouTube, Facebook, Metacafe, MySpace, etc. or their own Blogs and WordPress.
However, these websites usually have limitations on the uploaded video formats and file sizes, here I will take YouTube for instance to show how to share camcorder HD videos on YouTube via Mac.

If you are sensitive enough, you must have noticed that camcorder manufacturers have already released some camcorders or cameras specially designed for YouTube in recent years, which brings users great convenience, for people can upload their footages to YouTube in real time without doing previous format conversion job.
These camcorders or cameras include Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera,
Samsung VP-MX20/XEU YouTube Camcorder, super-small camcorder Flip MinoHD,and so on.

However, most mainstream HD camcorders record footages in the format of .MTS, .M2TS, and .TOD, and all of them can not be accepted by YouTube directly. As we all know, YouTube supports a relative wide range of video formats including .FLV, .MKV, .MOV, .WMV, .AVI, MPEG, .MP4, DivX, 3GP and .OGG. Obviously, .MTS, .M2TS, and .TOD are out of this range. Therefore, if we want to upload video files in these formats to YouTube, we have to convert them to its compatible formats at first. When it comes to video converting, an easy-to –use program should be mentioned right now,
I usually use Pavtube HD Video Converter for Mac to handle my camcorder HD videos, and it keeps working well all the time.

To put it bluntly, the quality of HD videos will be degraded during format converting no matter what kind of converters you are using.
In addition, the resulted files will be done second conversion by YouTube’s encoders while uploading, so to achieve the highest quality for YouTube, we’d better try the optimized video settings recommends by YouTube while converting:

Video codec: MPEG-4, H.264, or MPEG-2
Audio codec: MP3 or AAC, 128k Mono or 320k Stereo
Resolution: Recommended:1280 x 720 (16:9 HD) and 640 x 480 (4:3 SD)
Frame rate: 30 frames per second
File size and length: Up to 2GB file size and 10 minutes duration

If you can't set the optimized settings accurately, try and match them as close as possible.
By the way, .FLV should be a much better choice than other formats, as long as you limit the bit rate in not more than 320 kbps. In that case, the generated .
FLV files will not be converted for the second time by YouTube’s encoders while uploading, so that you can remain the original quality of .FLV video files as much as possible.

Well, once you have got the YouTube acceptable video files with satisfactory quality, you can login YouTube.com via your Mac to upload videos made by yourself with the intention of sharing them with YouTube users and even the whole world.

Here will be the place, on which we all can add the tips and tricks we found on Blacberry storm phones.

Here is my contribution:

"In The Message List

(Some of these work in tasks, memos, and appointments also)

 1. ALT-i: show only incoming mail
2. ALT-o: show only outgoing mail (messages you have sent – i.e. checkmark icon)
3. ALT-p: show phone log messages
4. ALT-s: show SMS messages
5. ALT-v: show Voicemail messages"
