<p><strong>StormOTA</strong>, a website that has <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Storm</strong> apps is claiming that they have a leaked version of <strong>BBM</strong> which it is only available for Blackberry Storm users that have OS 6.0. The <strong>leaked</strong> <strong>version</strong> can only be downloaded from your <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Storm</strong> <strong>device</strong> but StormOTA has mentioned several times that they don&#8217;t claim any functionality of any app found on their website.</p>
<p>No user reviews are seen on the blog itself or on the web, the 66 down-loaders seem happy since no complaints have been noted. StormOTA doesn&#8217;t provide any screenshots of the app.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/2011/10/24/stormota-claims-to-have-a-leaked-version-of-bbm-for-blackberry-storm-devices/screenshot-at-2011-10-23-163045/" rel="attachment wp-att-2857"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2857" title="Screenshot at 2011-10-23 16:30:45" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Screenshot-at-2011-10-23-163045-300x250.png" alt="" width="300" height="250" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-2855"></span></p>
<p>Some users may prefer to stay with the BBM version that RIM provides by default with the devices, it would be better as to using the leaked version &#8211; leaked versions can cause problems such as device not starting up. If you like to play around with your device like me, then you&#8217;ll know of all the possible dangers.</p>
<p>It isn&#8217;t necessary to have OS 6.0 to have the latest default BBM version on your device, at times RIM provides updates fast but then for some reason stops. With the outage that RIM had a couple of weeks ago, <strong>BBM</strong> isn&#8217;t experiencing as much problems as it was before the outage.</p>

<p>Many users have downloaded the Blackberry App World 3.0 on their Storm devices but as till today, no official bugs and reports have been noticed on the official forums or other websites. The new sleek design that it brings makes it easy to navigate for some users, with a new detailed My World, it is easier to see some information.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/blackberry-app-world-3-0-now-available.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2851" title="blackberry-app-world-3-0-now-available" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/blackberry-app-world-3-0-now-available-300x173.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="173" /></a></p>
<p>The App World still has the same restrictions, if an app isn&#8217;t available in your country then it won&#8217;t be shown. A new addition to the change log is that the user has access to &#8220;App Social Sharing&#8221;. The App World was previously in the Beta Zone, which then also showed no bugs.</p>

<p>The HTC Wildfire is already confirmed to receive the BBM service but not all of the Android devices were to receive it. Rumors suggest that the Blackberry Messenger shall be released in the end of Q2 for Android devices as well as the iOS is scheduled to receive a newer clone rather than the original stuff.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/BBM-for-Android.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2270" title="BBM for Android and iOS" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/BBM-for-Android-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-2268"></span></p>
<p>The edition for Android won&#8217;t be the same as the broadcasting (finally, no more spam) shall be removed as well as sending files. If this service is to be offered for the candidates, it means that the BIS shall also be available for the devices.</p>
<p>The iOS BBM shall be revealed later towards 2012, if you believe what rumors say. Maybe Blackberry will adopt these platforms but Steve Jobs may not be up for it, neither will Google as they don&#8217;t need it. It makes more sense if Google bought the Blackberry Messenger.</p>
<p>There are other alternatives to this, Google and Apple can create other services such as this but to attract the Blackberry consumers shall be a mission.</p>

<p>Since there is a new OS for the Blackberries in the market. Many people will perform a software update but sometimes, its not so simple to back up the data. Its much easier when you use the Blackberry Protect, hassle free and a bonus of tracking your Blackberry Storm from your PC.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/220534.png"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2232" title="Blackberry Protect homescreen" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/220534.png" alt="" width="225" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-2231"></span></p>
<p>Please note that you do need a Blackberry ID but don&#8217;t worry, f you don&#8217;t have an ID, you can always register at the moment. The drawback is that when tracking the location, the place of your Blackberry is at an approximate location of 800 meters.</p>
<p>It does give every other detail correctly such as the country, province and suburb. Luckily the Storm devices come with A-GPS built in rather than having to us third party GPS applications such as Google Maps. This tracking application comes in handy when your Storm has been hijacked or even lost but when you go on to track it, no street view is available.</p>
<p>It would have been best if RIM used Google Maps instead of Bing, atleast it would have helped the global users.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Storm 2 is one of the most succeeded smartphones developed by RIM and right now we get some rumors and specs about a new <strong>Blackberry Storm 3</strong> or an updated Storm 2 (the name is not good established but that’s the less important thing, we need to know what’s new on this smartphone).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/storm3.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-1857 aligncenter" title="storm3" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/storm3.jpg" alt="" width="293" height="360" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The first thing which might be obviously from this photo is the bigger 3.7” display which became very popular on the latest touchscreen smartphones from the international market.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The resolution is also not yet known but I’m almost 100% sure that they will upgrade the actual 360&#215;480 pixels resolution from the Storm 1 &amp; 2. It will also come with Wi-Fi connectivity and 8GB of internal memory which compared to the other smartphones it’s not a big deal but with the previews Storms, it is. You will also be able to attach a 32GB microSD card to the new upcoming Storm.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It will have 512MB of RAM memory which is more than enough to make this new Storm to be a good smartphone. You will also be able to make photos through its 5MP camera.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Remember that all information from this post is just rumors. The new Storm is that one from the picture listed above.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Blackberry Storm</strong> and<strong> Storm 2</strong> owners have one more thing to be sad of apart from the latest buzz about the ban on Blackberry services in some countries. And the bad news is, the phones <strong>can not be upgraded</strong> to the latest<strong> OS 6.0</strong>. This is because both these phones, apparently, wont work properly with the OS 6.0 due to their SurePress screens. Storm 2, which is not even an year old, still cant have the latest OS working on it.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/blackberry_storm_2.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1606" title="blackberry storm 2" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/blackberry_storm_2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The much hyped and waited for <strong>OS 6.0</strong>, will definitely like the dreams of its proud owners. But <strong>Storm</strong> and <strong>Storm 2</strong> owner will either have to buy the latest Blackberry phones with <strong>OS 6.0</strong> pre-installed, or will have to work their way out a few more months or perhaps years with their Storms.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Blackberry</strong> is preparing its third version of <strong>Storm</strong>, the <strong>Storm 3</strong>. The device would feature <strong>kinetic scrolling </strong>incorporated into a new user interface. The device is to be launched by year end. There is a picture of a slide taken in a very private presentation held by the company regarding the same. Engadget has reported this and has presented the pic on its site.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/112333_storm-400.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1600 aligncenter" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/112333_storm-400-300x237.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="237" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As can be seen from a blurry slide above, the phone has been codenamed as <strong>Odin Refresh</strong>. The device will feature <strong>BlackBerry OS 6.0</strong> which has kinetic scrolling and <strong>multi touch</strong>. Other details of the specs include webkit browser, <strong>512MB of RAM</strong>, upto <strong>32GB</strong> expandable storage, <strong>3G Mobile Hotspot</strong>, <span><strong>Wi-Fi 802.11n</strong>, <strong>5MP</strong> cam and its a world edition. With the 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, you can turn your device into a 3G hotspot so that other 3G enabled devices can access the network by connecting through your device. This is much similar to the feature offered by Android 2.2. With an improved 5MP cam, I suppose, will also come the ability to record videos in <strong>HD</strong>. This will be necessary for the device to be in the market as other players in this class have already rolled out versions with HD video recording. Nothing much can be said until the device is released or some more info of it is leaked.<br />

<p>I know we told you that the <a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/2010/05/24/update-blackberry-slider-isnt-likely-to-be-storm-3/"><strong>BlackBerry Slider</strong> isn’t likely to be <strong>the new Storm</strong></a> but we didn’t hear this coming from “RIM’s mouth” and being a <strong>touch screen</strong> phone is pretty similar to Storm 1 &amp; 2.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_002.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1553" title="gsmarena_002" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_002.jpg" alt="" width="256" height="444" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I also wanted to show you these <strong>new pictures</strong> because it has the new OS on it which I talked you about in the last post.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_002-1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1552" title="gsmarena_002 (1)" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_002-1.jpg" alt="" width="480" height="360" /></a></p>
<p>I have to say that this phone looks pretty ugly with keyboard sight but with it closed up it looks pretty cool and it looks like the new BB OS 6 fits it very good. I read somewhere on the internet that it’s going to be the first BlackBerry with OS 6 on it but no one really knows when is this going to be available on the market.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_001-1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1550" title="gsmarena_001 (1)" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_001-1.jpg" alt="" width="480" height="360" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This new BlackBerry Slider is expected to come with a touch screen but not with SurePress and a 5 MP camera with liquid lens technology (all we know is that name, we don’t really know what’s about).</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_001.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1551" title="gsmarena_001" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gsmarena_001.jpg" alt="" width="349" height="600" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I also want to tell you that this is not it’s official name or at least we’re not sure it is which makes me very curious about its final name.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a really new cool thing coming from RIM this time (as the <a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/2010/07/18/blackberry-6-os/">Blackberry 6 OS is released</a>) and as you can see in the title, it’s about the security of your phone. I know that there are plenty of apps about this but nothing could be better than <strong>a RIM’s product</strong>. I also read somewhere that if you’re looking for a<strong> good security phone</strong>, a <strong>BlackBerry</strong> is the perfect choice.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bbprotect-1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1545" title="bbprotect-1" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bbprotect-1.jpg" alt="" width="419" height="314" /></a></p>
<p>This new project they have comes to help you in case you lost your phone or if it has been stolen.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bb-protect3.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1546" title="bb-protect3" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bb-protect3.jpg" alt="" width="461" height="266" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The first thing you might want to do with BlackBerry Protect in case you lose your phone is to wipe and block it. You can also use it to backup your data through a wireless network and then restore it to another BlackBerry phone in case you’ll not find your lost phone.</p>
<p><a href="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bbprotect-5.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1547" title="bbprotect-5" src="http://the-blackberry-storm.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/bbprotect-5.jpg" alt="" width="396" height="293" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You can also locate your phone and even if it doesn’t have <strong>a GPS receiver</strong>, it can get the cell tower ID to report you its <strong>location</strong>. I bet you also lost it in your home and you had it on silent. In that case, <strong>BlackBerry Protect</strong> will make your phone to make a loud sound so you will <strong>find it</strong>. At the moment it’s not released but next week will be released <strong>a beta version</strong> so if you want an invitation, you should sign up <a href="http://www.gsmarena.com/blackberry_protect_keeps_your_blackberry_safe_wirelessly-news-1806.php" target="”_blank”">here</a>.</p>
