Blackberry Storm and Storm 2 owners have one more thing to be sad of apart from the latest buzz about the ban on Blackberry services in some countries. And the bad news is, the phones can not be upgraded to the latest OS 6.0. This is because both these phones, apparently, wont work properly with the OS 6.0 due to their SurePress screens. Storm 2, which is not even an year old, still cant have the latest OS working on it.

The much hyped and waited for OS 6.0, will definitely …

Blackberry is preparing its third version of Storm, the Storm 3. The device would feature kinetic scrolling incorporated into a new user interface. The device is to be launched by year end. There is a picture of a slide taken in a very private presentation held by the company regarding the same. Engadget has reported this and has presented the pic on its site.

As can be seen from a blurry slide above, the phone has been codenamed as Odin Refresh. The device will feature BlackBerry OS 6.0 which has kinetic …

I know we told you that the BlackBerry Slider isn’t likely to be the new Storm but we didn’t hear this coming from “RIM’s mouth” and being a touch screen phone is pretty similar to Storm 1 & 2.

I also wanted to show you these new pictures because it has the new OS on it which I talked you about in the last post.

I have to say that this phone looks pretty ugly with keyboard sight but with it closed up it looks pretty cool and it looks like the …

There is a really new cool thing coming from RIM this time (as the Blackberry 6 OS is released) and as you can see in the title, it’s about the security of your phone. I know that there are plenty of apps about this but nothing could be better than a RIM’s product. I also read somewhere that if you’re looking for a good security phone, a BlackBerry is the perfect choice.

This new project they have comes to help you in case you lost your phone or if it has …

I have to say that I get pretty excited when a new Blackberry OS is launched because the way you see the Storm will be different after the Blackberry 6 OS will be launched.
At the moment we don’t know what devices will support the new OS but I’m almost 100% sure that at least the BlackBerry Storm 2 will get it because as you can see in these two videos, it is presented to come with touch screen support.

There are a lot of new things at it including multi touch …

I really hoped that the Blackberry Slider, now known as the Blackberry Bold 9800, was going to be actually the Blackberry Storm3. But now everything points towards the Slider being a Bold device, not a Storm. However, the Slider is in fact a touchscreen smartphone. It also has the trackpad, but we think that will be something like in Android devices were you occasionally use it to scroll when moving your finger across the screen seems like too much work. So now that we know it is not the Storm3, we still …

I have to say that the Blackberry ”Slider” leaked some days ago has a very strange form factor. It looks like it is a device that works with the trackpad, but at the same time it has a gigantic screen that perfectly could be a touchscreen. This new Slider appears to be a Bold device, meaning that touchscreen would not be (at least) the main input meth0d for the user. However, some sources have pointed that the Slider could be the Blackberry Storm3, or just Storm as Blackberry possibly will …

Some months ago we saw what appeared to be the official Blackberry Twitter client, now it is available as a free download! But why would be need another Blackberry client given that there are dozens of other twitter clients out there for the Storm? For example, UberTwitter which is my favorite or even the simple Dabr web app. Well, I haven’t really tried the official app, but it should be better than the third party apps. The official Twitter client lets you do everything you would need to do: read …

I really liked that RIM said straight and loud that their OS didn’t need a complete re-do like Windows Mobile needed, and it really doesn’t need a whole re-do. The Blackberry OS as it is has space for improvements but definitively is up to par with most mobile platforms. And that is exactly what RIM is doing, they are adding functionality and features as well as polishing Blackberry OS. The Blackberry OS of the (near) future is called Blackberry 6, and it is looking great! Below you can find the …
