Most of the times when you want to make a note, you would normally use the Memopad or Tasks app since they are default. The disadvantage of the Taks and Memopad is that you have to each time go manually check what has to be done today, with the Tasks app, you can keep a reminder of what has to be done but the snooze/stop option does also encourage the disadvantages.
Home Screen Notes is such a app that, the notes that you create stay present at the homescreen, the note is embossed onto the wallpaper that you are currently using, there are options of the amount of transparency that you want of the note. Currently at the App Store, Home Screen Notes is available at a price of $1.99.
