BlackBerry Storm app review: TalkLock

It usually happens that you are talking to someone on your BlackBerry Storm and you accidentally touch the screen and something gets activated and starts annoying you. This is a very usual incident that happens with the BlackBerry Storm owners. Other smartphones which have previously faced this problem have adapted the proximity sensor so that the screen turns off when you take the phone near your ear to talk. This is not yet available in the BlackBerry Storm.

But now, we have a solution. TalkLock is an app for your BlackBerry Storm which automatically engages itself to the call after a few seconds into the call. It then monitors the touch screen’s actions and interpret them. This will in turn prevent the touch screen to launch apps on accidental touches. Once you end the call, the app automatically releases the touch screen monitoring task and the touch screen is back to being normal.

When you are in a call, if you want to use your screen for some reason, like making another call, or hold the active call, or anything else, you can reactivate the screen by swiping your finger from left to right. Once you install the app, it becomes more like a native app of your phone. It automatically starts up on each boot and activates itself only during calls and then its gone till the next call.

You can get more info about TalkLock and buy the app for your BlackBerry Storm for $2.99 from here.
