BlackBerry Protect
There is a really new cool thing coming from RIM this time (as the Blackberry 6 OS is released) and as you can see in the title, it’s about the security of your phone. I know that there are plenty of apps about this but nothing could be better than a RIM’s product. I also read somewhere that if you’re looking for a good security phone, a BlackBerry is the perfect choice.
This new project they have comes to help you in case you lost your phone or if it has been stolen.
The first thing you might want to do with BlackBerry Protect in case you lose your phone is to wipe and block it. You can also use it to backup your data through a wireless network and then restore it to another BlackBerry phone in case you’ll not find your lost phone.
You can also locate your phone and even if it doesn’t have a GPS receiver, it can get the cell tower ID to report you its location. I bet you also lost it in your home and you had it on silent. In that case, BlackBerry Protect will make your phone to make a loud sound so you will find it.
