Aaron, don't do it! The Storm 2 is only a year old and it hasn't aged well. The android phones and the iPhone4 are all far superior. You can even get an iPhone 3GS for a paltry $99. Windows Mobile Phone 7 is coming soon, and looks better than any Blackberry in existence. Also, the The Storm 2 is stuck on Blackberry OS 5. That means all the fixes that went into Blackberry OS 6 won't find their way onto this phone. So the terrible face detection, copy and paste, typing, and antiquated web browser will NEVER be fixed on the Storm 2. Don't do it man, don't do it.

Not yet a month into the the Storm 2 and I'm moving from frustration to contentment. This isn't an iPhone, but it's still way better than the old Curve. Does face detection work on your Storm 2? After ending a half dozen calls with my face, I was surprised to find out that the phone is supposed to have it. Also, do you find the copy/paste tabs flail about wildly, to the point of not being useful?

I have never disliked a product so much that I went searching for blogs to write about my frustration. The storm phone freezes on me on average 5-7 times each day. The most frustrating is when it is back to back. I don't understand why I am only offered a "refurbished" phone. Everyone knows all that means is they give you someone else's broken phone. I had a Razor for three years and never had a problem. I don't know anyone that has a Storm and doesn't complain about how slow it is, or how often it freezes--even with the updated software. Bottom line, don't sell phones that aren't ready for the market and don't work!

Thanks for this review. As an original Storm owner, I believe you are right: the first 2 or 3 months with this device drove me nuts. But now I'm running OS 5.0.0.328 on my Storm1, and apart from WI-FI, my phone performs exactly as you describe in your review. But, I had to mess with leaked OS's and tweak it to get to this point...not something everyone wants to do.
Bottom line for me is I am going to keep my Storm1 because it now performs like you describe in this review of the Storm2. My advice for Storm1 owners considering an upgrade to Storm2 would be, if you can live without WI-FI, and follow blogs like this to get tips on how to upgrade your OS, you will have a great phone.
I just hope future updates from RIM will work on both versions of the Storm.
Thanks again for the insight.
