New Software Update 4.7.0.167 For 9500 and 9530 Ready To Download!
We all love new software updates for the Blackberry Storm, everytime that a new firmware leaks, the Storm improves substantially; it is more stable, a lot of annoying bugs are fixed and some small features are added. And well, as not many official updates are released by carriers and RIM itself, we have to resort to unconfirmmed leaked software updates, of course, not backed or supported by RIM. But anyway, all the previous leaked firmwares have been beneficial for the Blackberry Storm, so this new software shouldn’t be different.
The good news are that new software(s) 4.7.0.167 and 4.7.0.173 leaked for the Blackberry Storm 9500 and 9530, and both updates are ready to download. The new updates can be downloaded for free and installed on your Storm using the Blackberry Desktop Manager provided by RIM. The new software will bring stability and will fix some bugs on the Storm, unfortunately, the detailed change log is unknown. Remember to back up any important info before attempting to update. Have a nice updating!

I installed this today on my 9530 Storm. I’m having problems viewing new texts initially. It also wasn’t playing sounds and the message indicator wasn’t working. Rebooted when it told me too, then had to a couple times more to fix it(hopefully). In case anyone else has the problem, rebooting a few times doing a battery pull should help.

I have tried the link for the 9500 update. The file does not exist. Does anyone have an alternate file location?

Is the download really 130 MB? Seems awfully large for a BB operating system. The application memory is only 128 MB. This is my first try with a leaked OS, so I have no reference.
