Accessory Review: Desktop Charge/Sync Pod
Accessories enhance and make better a mobile phone, they usually enable a new function or enhance the device to serve as something completely different. Today we will have a close look at the Blackberry Storm Desktop Charge/Sync Pod.
The desktop pod for the Blackberry Storm serves as a holder for the device, with it you can charge and sync the Storm with your computer while having it nicely standing on your desk. With just placing your Storm in the pod, you can charge it and transfer pictures, videos, emails and sync everything between your Storm and your computer. The pod also has a LED that barely illuminates so you can easily locate your Storm in the dark. All this features sound good, but what do we actually have to say about this accessory for the Storm?
Cons:
The dock does not actually bring a cable, you will have to use the USB Cable that came with your phone. It is nothing extraordinarily disappointing, although it would be nice if the pod came with a cable. Another complaint, is that if you are using a silicone sleeve or crystal case, there is no way the Storm will fit in there.
Pros:
The BB Storm pod holds the Storm pretty well, the phone is tight when inserted on the pod and won’t move. The rubber bottom prevents the phone from being pushed back while touching the screen. The pod is very well constructed, in fact, it is a bit heavier that one would expect.
The sync/charge works flawlessly, absolutely no complaint.
Conclusion:
The pod for the Storm is a nice accessory, it lets you use your Storm as an alarm clock and makes the Storm look ridiculously good on a desk. The pod is well built and well designed. We give the pod for the Storm 9/10 for not coming with an USB cable. You can check out the Storm Desktop pod here: BB Desktop Pod
