Blackberry Storm vs HTC Touch HD vs T-Mobile G1 vs iPhone 3G

I found an awesome video showing a guy who compares the Blackberry Storm vs HTC Touch HD vs T-Mobile G1 vs iPhone 3G. I found it very amusing, it definitively deserves to watch it all. He basically compares this 4 handsets and he chooses a winner at the end, he starts with the camera, I think that comparing the camera is not a fair comparison because obviously the HTC Touch HD with the 5Megapixel camera will beat by far the Storm’s 3.2 Megapixel camera.  Anyway here is the video, share what you think, enjoy!

The guy needs to learn to thumb type. Poking with one finger and a stylus would make me give him 2Gs.

I don’t know about his results.  Though I generally hate these types of comparisons because they never reflect my own tests I would have done.  I have the storm and yes, the lack of ability to see exactly what letter you are typing like the iphone  is annoying.  But I can type an email quicker with that than on my wifi enabled ipod touch at home simply because I don’t like that the ipod doesn’t have a horizontal keyboard.  I have a hard time typing when the phone is vertical.  So I find his email test completely bogus.

And yes, I agree with the camera issue.  You can’t compare a 2mp camera to a 3.2mp camera to a 5mp camera.

And the lack of customizability (is that a word?) of the iphone just kills it for me.  I have 8 or 9 pages of apps and I have to scroll through them all just to get from one to another.  And to move apps from one screen to another is a huge pain!

I can’t wait to see android in another year or two.  Then I think it will be a HUGE winner over any of these.

And since I can’t get my hands on the Touch HD here in the states, I can’t say much for that except that I HATE windows mobile!!!  WinMo 7 might be good, but it’s still a ways off, so that would be a clear looser for me.

    Just my two cents though.

How he could pick windows mobile over any of the other operating systems is beyond me.  The Storm’s keyboard rocks … and the fact that it took him a minute and a half to type an email tells me he’s a moron.  The one major thing he didn’t test was speed of internet browsing over the 3G network.  I think he dropped the ball on this test.

The comparison had a good set of tests. And I do agree, Yes, you can compare the different resolution cameras.
However, I did not like that he eliminated a phone after each test, I would have loved to see the results on each for all phones.
When I picked my phone the speed to write messages was my most important test.  I did not understand his problem with the storm. It has a beautiful virtual keyboard. Yes, your thumbs, cover the letter to be pressed, but he blue hover light tells your clearly if the phone has recognized the letter you want before you press, and the tactile feedback on the press is great in letting you know you got the letter.  In the landscape format you can type with both thumbs and I am much faster (3x) on the storm than on the iPhone. Plus, most other tests also put the storm over the iPhone on email handling. And on the HTC I can only type with one hand, making it slower than the storm as well (plus having a design where a stylusis not needed is great since I tend to loose mine ;-)
So to me the storm is the clear iPhone killer and I’m quite happy to own one now.
