When will RIM add Flash to our Berrys?

One little thing RIM keeps forgetting to add to our BB’s is the Flash Player, for example to see videos directly on youtube.com and not the horrible .3gp video that the mobile youtube site shows, or to watch other videos around the web, or play nice flash games and files.  I know the Iphone does not have it either, but Nokias do, and why our BB’s don’t??  Is that hard to do RIM?  Is clear that BBs started as a device for business, but it has been long since RIM reached the general consumer market, and soon or later they will have to add Flash support for BBs. But when will this happen? I hope the Storm will be the first device with Flash Support, maybe in a near future software update?

I completely agree with this statement. BB claims to be more than a phone and they advertise the business end of it, However they had an opportunity to seperate themselves from the competion and adding the flash player would have been a great start. Instead we have no cool app center and the same old BB. If BB doesn’t start innovating besides the suretype which is cool but not great, they will get left behind by mac and google. BB does all this cool stuff but that would have been huge and widely popular. Mac has left features less technology and less of a  product and they are dominating. Why, because they were inovative and fresh BB has not done that yet.

You are right! But iPhone dominates because of the adverising they make. Is extraordinary how they advertise the iphone, even I want to run and buy one!

Yes, Blackberry needs a flash player on its devices, but in that aspect they are not that behind. The only manufacturer that offers Flash is Nokia.

Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Iphone they all have flash lite on their models… The newer models come with the last version Flashlite 3.0 that handel video and streaming even better.

Only Nokia has flash on their models, and is flash lite meaning it plays scripts below flash 9. Is useful but doeesnt make a big difference.

If the BB doesnt support the flash lite and cant use the flash player, which player does it use to play YouTube 3gp videos and if it is the default handset player, how does it get selected? Any idea of how the decision be made if the flash player isnt supported then play with the default player?
